Lincoln Property Company is currently hiring for an experienced Property Accountant to oversee a portfolio of communities in the areas of accounts payables, accounting month end procedures and quarterly reports for owners. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting processes for 10 - 12 properties (The number of communities the Accountant is responsible for can change at any time without prior notice.)
  • Receiving A/P batches from properties and posting the A/P 
  • Cutting checks
  • Verifying bank balances
  • Posting NSF/Returned checks
  • Calculate weekly inter-company payments between Lincoln Property Company and the respective properties
  • Make monthly property mortgage payments and ensure property taxes are paid timely
  • Calculate monthly owner distributions
  • Verify and print vendor 1099s for properties on an annual basis
  • Run quarterly reports for owners

Accounting Month End Procedures include but are not limited to: 

  • Verifying G/L balances
  • Write and enter journal entries
  • Run preliminary reports for the properties
  • Book the entries for the properties reclasses and accruals
  • Calculate monthly management fees
  • Run the properties monthly final reports
  • Complete monthly schedules for the final reports
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Send completed accounting finals to Regional Property Manager(s) before reporting deadline

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required. College degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years' accounting experience is required.
  • Property accounting experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines in an organized and timely manner.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required to complete accounting duties.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
